How it works
Start from the budget, not the recipe
Four steps from a number to a week of dinners and a single shop.
1 · Set your budget and household
A weekly grocery figure and who you're feeding — adults, children, and any allergies or diets. Takes about a minute.
2 · We generate the week
A deterministic engine builds a full plan that lands under your budget, priced against real regional grocery costs. It reuses ingredients across meals so nothing is bought to be wasted.
3 · Shop one list
Everything you need, consolidated and ordered by supermarket section, with a running total. Check off what you already have and the total drops.
4 · Cook, then scan the receipt
Snap the receipt (Premium) and Mealconomy reconciles planned vs. actual spend — so next week's estimates are tighter.
Why deterministic, not AI
Budget, pricing and unit-conversion math is done by a fixed engine, not a language model. The same inputs always produce the same plan, every figure is traceable, and “within budget” is a fact rather than a guess.
